Daily Mail  has released an audio conversation that appears to show Kari Lake being offered a bribe to suspend her political career in Arizona. The offer is being made by the Chair of the Republican Party there, Jeff DeWit. Hear the audio : Kari Lake is asked to name her "number" that would make her pause her campaign for two years. Click to hear audio: The question becomes, is it real? Sometimes when something sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true. By "too good" we mean fits the political narrative too closely. There needs to be more investigation to understand if this is AI, or is it scripted in some way? We are not making that allegation.  [NOTE: Jeff DeWit has resigned as the leader of the Republican Party in AZ in response to this audio.] So Kari Lake spoke of this conversation back at CPAC 11 months ago. This audio sounds to be verification of this. So we got questions: Was this recording leaked by Lake or one of the other persons in the room?

  So let's talk about the idea that more people voted than were registered in some counties in critical states. There are many uninformed people on X (formally Twitter) who simply repeat the statement only because it has appeared in media reports. However, the idea that Trump claimed that more people voted than were registered to vote has been perpetuated many times. All of this is oddly based on a December 22, 2020, Donald Trump Tweet that stated:  " In certain swing states, there were more votes than people who voted, and in big numbers. Does that not really matter? Stopping Poll Watchers, voting for unsuspecting people, fake ballots and so much more. Such egregious conduct. We will win!"
